the sea a rolling cenotaph
a thousand broken seagulls laugh
the sky was running out we sinking fast
and it feels like something's pulling us to sea
to scatter our emotional debris
and it's funny that it's anyone but me
always the same
i'll take the blame

so waterlogged we sun go down
beyond the point where sailors drown
the current rough and so we turned around

clouds like brawling seraphim
the skies grow dark the forecast dim
familiar patterns soon are closing in
