England 01:53
England is sleeping all safe in their beds and nobody's going to sea. They've all said goodbye to their day-to-day lives and nobody lives here but me. I climb to the top of my tower of stone and scan the wide ocean of grey. On Sundays the harbor is filled with great ships but nobody's coming today.

when the city lights up like the fourth of july you slip into the crowd and you feel so good and the people you see passing by on the street they don't see you at all they don't know you're on fire and the city becomes like a gelatin print like an old photograph that it took of itself and the buildings become like the masts of a ship sailing out to the sea and new york sails cross the sky. the diminishing streets are eclipsed by the air turning black where it hangs from a gallows of sky and the night wraps around your gelatin frame and the city becomes a picture of itself and the buildings become like the masts of a ship sailing out to the sea out to where you're free new york sails cross the sky.

Don't you tire of this desire? Will it never end? All your daydreams tear at the tent seams. Will they never mend? Don't it seem so funny? Life's got you down. Calling Mister Wonderful to turn your life around. Countless sages through the ages, followed at his heels Male or female, he'll always prevail, in the final reel. Mister Wonderful will make you a man. Kiss me, you're so beautiful, it's more than i can stand. I'm at your command. Jesus, Buddha, Pablo Neruda. Certain girls named Kim. Every Seymour... how could you be more? All of us is him. Mister Wonderful, I'm glad you're on time. Take me in your arms & make this lonely world shine, These crippled words rhyme.

Dial Tone 02:43
i was holding your face in the palm of my eyes i was feeling your skin on my heart you were looking at me w a tender surprise as i tenderly pulled you apart there was never a way to be w you alone there was nothing we said that was written in stone there was nothing to think as you hung up the phone and i choked on the cold dial tone. i was listening close to the words that you said while the world chattered rudely away and i think i believed all the wishes i'd fed w the words that you never did say there was never a way to be w you alone there was nothing we said that was written in stone there was nothing to think as you hung up the phone and i choked on the cold dial tone.

Morning Blue 05:24
Was a train - catched a ride - over you - in the night woke to find - morning blue. Didn't know - what to say - all the air - had slipped away leaving me - morning blue. Had a dream - you were there - snow was waving - through the air all in white - just we two. In a room - i saw the light - winter walls - were glowing bright shining out - love to you. On the streets - people stare - don't know why - there's no one there no one left - no one (k)new. Silver heart - let me unwind - and ravel out- the silver line spinning out - just for you. With you in black - the world in white- the light is hard - but still the night clings to you ~ Was a train - catched a ride - over you - in the night woke to find - morning blue.

Still 04:58
broke as an old toaster and sad as a clown with a tombstone in my pocket i make my way downtown the night sky so empty as the streetlights swarm around like schaecter's bees still i go on if you please well it seems like last christmas we were lonely & free drank all your whiskey & made love beneath the tree now the sky is a graveyard flyin over me in the breeze still i go on if you please walking by your window where you used to plant your pie sometimes i wonder why we all have to cry how could a river so dirty still hold so much sky with such ease still i go on if you please

Pineapple 02:09
Pineapple, pineapple pen. Line after pineapple pen. Who put the why in the When am I free to go chained to a pile of snow. How much more smile am I expected to know, dear. Clouds hide a mountain of sin. They show me a way to begin. Over & over Again to sea I turn. The sails of my skin will burn. I am on fire - show a little concern then. If I could be right at your side spears through my organs will ride carried away by the Tied to a sea of green life could be so serene, hiding away in a little ravine, yeah. Up in the burgundy sky birds swim a river of fly. I don't pretend to know Why is the sea so round lifting me off the ground. Questions like this seem a little profound when they dazzle with sequins of snow. I don't know which way to row. When am I free to go

Fishtanq 05:47
Fishtanqs rupture all around and fish swim out to sea. There's no silence more profound than that of fish set free. Alabaster potted palms drop fronds on marble shores. The naked palm trees beg for alms to the sound of fishy snores. The ocean waves along the sand but never reach the shore, so hermit crabs along the beach must always ask for more. However high the oceans rise they can't eclipse the sun, Which poaches of its own free will as soon as day is done. But you & i are far away, our hearts are dancing fast. I wish we had more time to play, but we're dancing in the past. Fishtanqs rupture all around and the fish are finally free. There's no silence more profound than that of you & me. The fish are gone to sea... The fish are gone to sea...

White Noise 05:36
Fuzzy shapes go rushing by. Heaven makes me close my eyes. Your memory is all around, without a sound. White noise sings me lullabies. This winter storm could hypnotize me. Snow begins to fall at last, like scattered scraps of past. What happens to your thoughts of me, When someone else is at your knee? Where should i keep my love for you? Perhaps this winter storm will do. Where should i keep my thoughts of you? Perhaps this winter song will do.

Ice Cube 06:20
Melting like an ice cube I become a pool of me There's nothing i could wish for There's no place i'd rather be Thinking of you now there's no escape i can't foresee. Many times i wondered How we would reunite So many times i'd think of us Of each our separate light The embers bargained slowly for the chance to reignite. You tell me there's no time for things That happened yesterday I tell you not one thought for you Has ever gone astray Thinking of you now i don't regret a single day.
