Birds

birds
collect in pools
by the side of the house
rain
falls straight down
all the way to the ground
animals go splashing by, reflected in a grey sky
weathering the year with you, is really all i want to do do do do-do
sweet
to see your face
across the table from me
can't
you understand
what you're meaning to me
caravans of clouds collide, collecting in a bird's eye
weathering the year with you, exactly as i want to do do do do-do
years
collect in pools
by the side of our lives
to have
a life with you
makes it easy to be me

Pineapple

Pineapple, pineapple pen.
Line after pineapple pen.
Who put the why in the
When am I free to go
chained to a pile of snow.
How much more smile
am I expected to know, dear.
Clouds hide a mountain of sin.
They show me a way to begin.
Over & over
Again to sea I turn.
The sails of my skin will burn.
I am on fire - show a little concern then.
If I can be right at your side
spears through my organs will ride
carried away by the
Tied to a sea of green
life could be so serene,
hiding away in a little ravine, yeah.
Up in the burgundy sky
birds swim a river of fly.
I don't pretend to know
Why is the sea so round
lifting me off the ground.
Questions like this seem a little profound when
they dazzle with sequins of snow.
I don't know which way to row.
When am I free to go?

Rapunzel
03:54
|

Hey Rapunzel, let down your long hair.
I'd like to see you a while.
You feel lonely and i think i could help you.
I know that i'd make you smile.
Hey Rapunzel, i like this new color,
Goes really well with that chair.
And these curtains look good by the window.
Makes me feel like i'm floating on air.
Hey Rapunzel, let's away from this tower.
Dry all your tears on my sleeve.
I picked the lock, and the guards are all sleeping,
but you don't seem eager to leave.
Hey Rapunzel, you cut off your long hair.
I see you hiding up there.
There was something you were trying to tell me.
You would whisper it into the wind.
I could not hear a word you were saying,
Over and over again.

Shadows
02:53
|
|||
shadows fall across the room tonight
eclipsing every molecule in sight
i listen to your sonnet as you sleep
i count pentameter instead of sheep
i feel myself dissembling
in words i couldn't be resembling
i lie upon the bed and watch your face
discover that i'm gone without a trace
shadows turn the room an icy blue
illuminating everything but you
running through the past is all i do
searching for the time of me and you

Moon

Moon over the salt flats
Bright hole in the sky
Moon beautiful moon
Moon why do you cry
Moon setting on fire
Moon taking my breath
Moon looks like hitler
The moon looks like death.
And the moon is brighter than i am,
The moon is much brighter than me.

Won't Be Back (Again)
02:23
|
|||
I won't be calling anymore,
Doesn't mean i don't love you, please know that i do.
You'll think i'm stalling but i'm not.
It's simply too painful to be around you.
There are ashes in my heart,
As the past explodes like a runaway train.
And it occurs to me now, this time i won't be back again.
I'll admit that i am horrified, by the current sad state of affairs.
You might see this as dramatic, overblown and extreme,
I'll understand if you think i'm unfair.
I'll sing your praises to the sky,
But i won't go back to the way it was then.
And so i'm sorry to say, this time i won't be back again.
I made a promise to myself
that i would only go through this one time.
I baked a cake with a file, fled the jail of my heart,
and then realized, i committed no crime.
You are the memory of a dream,
fading away on the morning of a day without end.
And it's so clear to me now, this time i won't be back again.
And any reckoning of joy
would have to be balanced by an accounting of pain.
Has it occurred to you yet? This time i won't be back again.
Has it occurred to you yet? This time i won't be back again.

Laughing Man
02:11
|
|||
Laughing man, with face agape,
Smiling all over the bar,
Holds me to a bet I make
And throws me to the stars.
Laughing man, laughing man,
Laugh, laugh, laughing man.
Laughing man, I've done what I can.
Laugh, laugh, laughing man.
Dolphins lead the orchestra,
In tango summer seas.
I hear them gently laughing at
My terminal disease.
Laughing man, laughing man,
Laugh, laugh, laughing man.
Laughing man, I've done what I can.
Laugh, laugh, laughing man.

The Stars, The Stars
01:51
|
|||
Do you remember a night
when the sky came down
the sky came down
We were drowning in stars
And no moon shone low
on the tops of the houses
And no moon reflect
the face of the sea.
And the world disappear
with our sadness & fear
and i tell you i love you
It's so perfectly clear.
But the stars, the stars.
The stars, the stars.

Hoverclown
04:48
|

Hangin' around like a hoverclown.
Hangin' around in your shantytown.
You were a raincoat dissolving in the rain.
You were a raincoat dissolving in the rain.
You were a secret that i could never hear.
You were a secret that nobody could hear.
